Keynote Speaker: Devon Harris

“Keep On Pushing”

Devon effectively shows how the process of pushing a bobsled is analogous to the success journey of life; how going through the process, growth and embracing change is critical to transforming oneself as well  as the people and the organizations around them.

IACC Special Event at Ball & Chain

Join IACC in the fun of Miami nightlife at Ball & Chain. Ball & Chain was formerly a gambling den, mobster-owned club and jazz venue hosting luminaries like Billie Holiday from the 1930s–1950s, this storied nightspot reemerges in Little Havana once again, embracing its colorful past with a 1930s-inspired design countered by modern-day music acts. We will enjoy dining, drinks, music and see the history of the area. The cost of this event is included with your full convention registration. Guest tickets may be purchased separately.

Explore This Exciting City!

Miami is a beautiful city with tons of local attractions, an especially vibrant nightlife, and a surprisingly diverse set of cuisines. To fully take advantage of this wonderful city, here are our top recommendations for you.

Dining

Miami offers some of the best Cuban and Peruvian food in the US, as well as fresh, delicious seafood!  With diverse food options across the city, here are some staples you have to try!  Vegans and vegetarians, scroll down for our top picks of Miami’s many vegan restaurants!

Vaca Frita

Literally translated as "fried cow," vaca frita is a Cuban specialty that features "beef shredded and marinated in lime and then cooked until it’s crispy. It is often served with a mountain of sautéed onions and wedge of lime so you can squeeze it on top to taste, and usually with rice and beans."

La Rosa |  Havana Harry's |  Old's Havana

Aji de Gallina (Chili Pepper Chicken)

A Peruvian specialty, this dish features chicken "unlike any you’ve ever had before."  Served with a creamy yellow sauce and rice, this is a must-eat Miami staple.

Suviche |  Mr. & Mrs. Bun |  Aromas del Peru

Ceviche

Love seafood?  You'll love this Peruvian dish, which features fresh fish marinated in citrus juices.  The flavor will depend on what fish you get and which spices and juices it's marinated in.  You won't want to miss this!

Jaguar Ceviche Spoon Bar |  Ceviche Town |  CVI.CHE 105   |  La Mar

Stone Crab

I mean, c'mon. Fresh stone crab? Melted butter? What more do you need? Miami offers some of the best seafood in the country, and stone crab is one of their most lauded meals.

Joe's Stone Crab   |  Truluck's  |  Monty's

Vegetarian/Vegan-Friendly Options

Despite being a seafood center, Miami also has many restaurants that cater to vegan/vegetarian diets, with delicious options in a variety of styles.

Plant Miami   |  Full Bloom Gourmet Vegan Cuisine   |  GLAM Vegan

Shopping

Miami has everything you need to shop 'till you drop.  For a look into luxury (and possible celebrity spotting), make sure to visit Bal Harbour Shops.  If you find yourself near Miami Beach, peruse around indoor and outdoor shopping at Lincoln Road Mall.  For the more artsy folks, there's the beautiful Miami Design District, full of shops and visual spectacles to pique your interest.

Nightlife

If dancing is your forté, Miami is certainly the place for you.  Check out some of the iconic clubs, such as Club Space, Basement, and E11even.  For some possible celebrity spotting, check out Miami's most famous club, LIV Miami.

If live music is more your scene, Miami has plenty of options.  The Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater is one of Miami's hottest music venues.  If you're looking for a more laid-back music atmosphere, The Wynwood Yard hosts a variety of genres, with food trucks to boot!  If you want to rock out in a smaller venue, Las Rosas is your destination.

The Options are Endless

  • For animal lovers, be sure to check out Zoo Miami, Jungle Island, and Miami Seaquarium!
  • For art and history lovers, take a visit to the Coral Castle Museum, built by hand (!) by the mysterious Edward Leedskalnin. How he completed this attraction is still unknown!
  • Art lovers rejoice! The Wynwood Wall offers a look at some of the most spectacular graffiti in the USA.
  • Architecture buffs would be remiss to skip the Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, a sprawling mansion on the sea.
  • For another shopping endeavor, why not check out Bayside Marketplace? One of the most popular tourist spots in Miami, this beautiful indoor/outdoor shopping center is located on the beach!
  • For nature lovers, just a short drive from Miami is the sprawling Everglades National Park! Check out Florida's unique flora and fauna while admiring the beauty of the Everglade system.
