Know Your Client’s Business
As a professional commercial collector, you should know your client’s business – the products and services they provide. This knowledge is important because if you are able to explain the nature of the past due account, you can anticipate many imaginary grievances and stalls the debtor may use when confronted with the debt. Client knowledge and your relationship with them is important, it provides needed guidelines about handling each client’s accounts.
In this session, you will learn:
- Retail vs. commercial claims
- The importance of learning your client’s business
- The various types of ownership and partnership among debtors
- Collection laws and how they apply to this relationship
- How to motivate and persuade debtors to pay
